Steam and Steel Workshop will be intimate and intense, it will be engaging and valorous, so we hope!
Along with us we will have three international renowned guests: a photographer, a videographer and a SEO specialist – 5 speakers opening a window into their work, their workflow, their methods and tools.
Photography and film come together into this workshop just like they coexist on the wedding day. We do believe that there is a lot to learn on the edge of our own field, when we look out to the fellow working by our side, in an art that is tangential but, in so many ways, matches ours so perfectly.
The wedding world is a common ground between us all, so it will be, of course, a main topic…but not the only one! Also cinema, street photography, the world wide web and life itself will be on the table.
We want these days to be rich and intensive, enabling bonds and fostering a sense of community among us all. Every moment will be a good moment for connecting and sharing experiences, either while drinking the breakfast coffee or while sharing a bottle of wine in the end of the day.
Aiming to reach this kinship mood, we choose to host the Workshop and lodge the participants in one single place - The Passenger Hostel. It is an inspiring building, loaded with History, exhaling an industrial mood that thrills us. We will live together for three days, sharing knowledge and experiences but also meals and rooms… and hopefully many laughs and a few dance steps.

Steam and Steel Workshop will take place in The Passenger Hostel, located in the iconic São Bento Train Station, in the heart of Porto, Portugal.
The Station, selected by Travel and Leisure Magazine as one of the 16 most beautiful stations in the world, overwhelms the tourists by the tiles panels on its main entrance. As for us, it excites us by its industrial and moody atmosphere. And the perfect Hostel to lodge Steam and Steel Workshop is right there!
There we find the warmness and hospitality of Porto people when welcoming guests. We find lovely and comfortable rooms to host us all and we find spacious and beautiful common areas for our activities.

It’s a Wedding Photography and Wedding Video Workshop aiming to help you getting better and better at this awesome job!

The event will take place at The Passenger’s Hostel, located in São Bento Train Station, in the heart of Porto’s downtown.
4WHO IS BEHIND STEAM&STEEL?
Steam&Steel was thought and organized by two Porto based teams: Pixel (videographers) and Menino Conhece Menina (photographers).
5WHY A JOINED PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO WORKSHOP?
As you may know, there are a few alone photography or video workshops. As people who love what they do and are also good friends, we came up with an idea of a combined one because video and photography complement each other not only in keeping the memories, but also in the workflow of the wedding day. In this workshop we’ll also talk about how to improve your collaboration skills and getting better with the team working.
6HOW DO I GET THERE?
If you live abroad, you can reach the Hostel via Francisco Sá Carneiro (OPO) airport, which is a 45 minutes distance by subway. You can also reach the station by train from anywhere in the country, of course.

7WHAT LANGUAGE WILL BE SPOKEN?
The entire event will be in English. Although, if all the tickets are bought by locals, some presentations could be spoken in Portuguese/Spanish as well.
8WHO CAN ATTEND?
Basically anyone can attend. Steam&Steel is focused on worldwide wedding photographers / Videographers. But even if you aren’t a professional but still want to get inspired and socialize with people with this interests, your’re more than welcome to join us.
9WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You can always choose to just observe, but we encourage you to bring your own camera/laptop to practice.
You should pack some warm clothes as well, because it can be cold in November.
10CAN I USE THE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS I SHOOT FOR MY OWN INTEREST?
You’re welcome to use your own material, as long as you credit the event #steamandsteelworkshop

1WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?
- Access to the full program of events
- 3 nights accommodation at The Passenger Hostel in shared dormitory
- All meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee breaks
(except for last night’s dinner, which we are planning to have somewhere in the city, to start a memorable party!). Contact us if you have any food restriction or allergies.
- 6 months access to a private group where we can have some exchange of ideas and/or assist you with some professional doubts

We really want to offer an intense and intimate experience, getting to know each of the participants for real, creating laces that can endure in time!
Having that time to talk and discuss ideas after presentations and masterclasses will allow everyone to help each other growing both professionally and personally.
3CAN I PURCHASE ONE DAY OF WORKSHOP ONLY?
We are not offering single day passes at the moment, we would like to provide an experience based on education as well as social activities. It will be much more valuable as whole immersive experience.

5WHAT MEANS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

6WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT?
No worries, at check out, when PayPal new window pops up, simply select "create an account" or "pay using your credit or debit card", you will be taken to a window where you can either create a PayPal account or pay directly wit your credit card without needing to create a PayPal account.
7IS THERE A PHYSICAL TICKET?
No, there is not. When the payment is settled you will receive an email with the confirmation. Once you arrive at the workshop, it would be enough to tell us your Name and email and you are good to go!
8WHAT’S THE REFUND POLICY?
All sales are final and non-refundable. If you can’t attend at last minute, you can transfer the ticket to another person, but you’ll not be refunded. If this is the case, please email us at steamandsteelworkshop@gmail.com
9WHAT HAPPENS IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED?
In the case we don't reach the minimum numbers of tickets sold, we'll be forced to cancel Steam&Steel. If so, all the tickets bought until then will be refunded.
